5 + 2. Brown discharge

I've had brown discharge for the past 2 days. Not heavy or anything. Sometimes there's quite a bit when I wipe but most of the time I can barely see it. No cramps. Generally feel well. I'm too early to refer myself to the epu ( I've had ectopics so early scans are a must ). I've been waiting 2 days for my gp to get back to me. Should I be worried? I feel like this is a bit late for implantation bleeding.

Im 5 weeks + 1 and also had some brown spotting the past few days and very mild cramps. My GP was not worried about an ectopic as I am well with it. They said it could be an implantation bleed which happened last week as its old blood. They also said its very common and most people go on to have healthy pregnancies . Ive got a scan booked at the EPU for just over a week to check. The midwife also got in touch to make first contact (i filled out a form online last week to be allocated a midwife) and I told her, she was really reassuring .

if you're struggling with your GP for an EPU referral, i think 111 can make them too. Its very stressful but often part of normal pregnancies

Thank you. That's a bit more reassuring for me. I panic after having 2 early losses the past 12 months but I genuinely feel fine so half of me is worried and the other half is calm. I thought waiting for a bfp was stressful but this is worse. Hopefully both our scans go absolutely fine :) xx

Ive been exactly the same flicking between its all going to be ok and its the worse case scenario, fingers crossed for everything being ok at our scans too. Its impossible to know and the waiting is awful :(

I had brown discharge around that time and it amounted to nothing so hopefully will be the same for you. Brown usually means old blood, I’d be more worried if it were red x

I had brown discharge at 6, 7 and 11 weeks it was terrifying everything but everything was fine (now 27 weeks).
I was told if it’s brown and no pain then it’s nothing to worry about. All the best to you x

Thank you everyone. Fingers crossed. I really do feel fine. And it's very light to. I'm going to try and distract myself with visiting some family members to keep me mind off it until I have a scan. Xx

I had very light brown discharge around that time, maybe a bit earlier actually, with my ectopic and there was no cramps etc at that stage - not enough to go on a pad but noticeable when I wiped. Came back at 7+2 with cramping when ectopic was diagnosed. Will you be having a scan at 6 weeks given your history? Wishing you the best x

Louise0808 · 16/02/2023 16:14

Yeah I'll be having a scan at 6 weeks. I've had 2 ectopics in both tubes now. So as precaution they scan me early. I've always had pain with mine so I'm fingers crossed this is all okay. I'm used to bad news at this point though so pray for the best but prepare for the worst. X

Had horrendous cramps last night. Woke up this morning to a heavy flow of fresh blood. This will be the 3rd early miscarraige in 12 months and we had an ectopic in that time. Think im going to ring the doctor and go back on contraception now. Im 32 this year and I've got 2 boys who are turning 8 and 10 this year so I'm very lucky to have them. TTC is not working for me. And honestly I feel like I need my life back now. Thank you ladies for your reassuring experiences. Hope everything works out for all of you:) xxx

Just in case anyone comes across this thread in a similar situation, my 6 +4 scan was positive with a fetal heart beat detected
