I'm trying to remember when I felt my first DD moving around but I can't, it wasn't 'late' though. I honestly thought by the 18 week mark with my second as I am now, I would be feeling movements. Maybe not regularly but once a day or something similar. I definitely felt something last Thursday which went on for about 5-10 minutes but that was a week ago.. should I contact the midwife & ask them to check the heartbeat, or is it just a case of accepting it & waiting until the 20 week scan?

Hi,

Many congratulations on your pregnancy!

I believe every women, her body and her pregnancy is unique ❤️. The baby movements roughly initiates around 16 to 24 weeks. If you’re first time mum you might feel then little later but depend on your unique circumstances.

Sometimes mothers would feel movements when they are relaxed at night or when they sleeping!

Every women is unique so some would feel more movements while others would feel less.

However, let me assure you that your maternal instincts are always right so always follow them! If you think you need to get it checked then do so.

Hope that helps

It’s not unusual to have not felt anything yet, but equally, my midwife said I could book in to make a listening appointment anytime if I was anxious.

Have you got an anterior or posterior placenta?

I'm 17 weeks with my 3rd, I thought I was feeling movements really early on but have felt nothing for weeks so questioning those early movements now. I went to the midwife last week and heard the heartbeat, they told me if I'm worried about movements to give them a call and they can listen to the heartbeat again, maybe call yours if your worried.
