Early pregnancy - Anyone ever had a FEELING they were carrying twins - AND BEEN RIGHT?

I am seven weeks pg and have this nagging feeling that I am carrying twins.

I had no m/s with ds1 (2) and ds2 (1), but am suffering with dreadful all day nausea now.
Anyone else THOUGHT they might be carrying twins and were proved right?
Don't think I could cope with 4 under 3!!!! What's the likelihood? Shock

Yeah I'm due to be induced next Tues, and I knew I was expecting twins, I even joked about it on the ttc thread I was on!

Also said to Mil the day before my scan - 'I bet it's twins' And my first scan was at 5 weeks and 2 days!!

But there have been plenty of mums to be speculating on here and have only found to be carrying one!!

well not exactly the same, but I was convinced I was having a girl until my 20 week scan and was proved wrong, so sometimes these instincts aren't always right...

i had nausea all day too with my dd, the doctors thought i must have twins, but scans proved them wrong!

OOooh, MommyD you just put the fear of God into me....Grin .... I am about 5 wks now and suffering with m/s that is signficantly worse (and started earlier) than with my other too... argh!

MommyD · 06/12/2004 12:12

smellymelly - how did you KNOW? I got early twinges always in the same place with ds1 and ds2 (left of centre). I keep getting twinges on the left of centre and the right of centre!! And I just can't get twins out of my head. Maybe because the thought is just TOO scary!?

might just mean a different sex?

cranberryjampot · 06/12/2004 12:15

I was convinced I was carrying twins simply from the sheer size of me - every time I went for a scan I nagged them to "just check".. I am a twin which made me a little paranoid too

MommyD · 06/12/2004 12:22

Tessiebear - but dh doesn't make girls!!!! Grin
I fully expect to be the mother of three boys (perhaps even 4 if it's twins)! Yikes! 4 boys under 3. Help.

Well - I tested postive 5 days before AF was due, and I felt sick from the day AF was due.

There are no twins in my family, and I had no real reason to suspect, I'd actually lost a tube Nov 03 when an ectopic ruptured, and was told my fertility had been reduced!!

But I wouldn't panic just yet MommyD, the mind has ways of telling us things that aren't true. I was convinced I was pregnant the month before I actually fell pregnant with these 2!

smellymelly · 06/12/2004 12:23

Yeah - It is probably a girl!!!

ChristmasCracker · 06/12/2004 12:24

My first pregnancy was a twin one. I hadn't given it the lightest though that i may be having twins despite not being able to keep anything down at all.

I didn't find out until i started bleeding heavily at 7 weeks and they found an empty sac.

I can't wait until you find out now, just imaguine if you are right Grin

MommyD · 06/12/2004 12:30

smellymelly - I have NO reason AT ALL to suspect twins, but I just do. None in family.
I suspected a couple of weeks back BEFORE I started feeling terribly sick.
I am sure I am wrong and the odds are against me.
Only time will tell!
No it can't be a girl Grin
