Dates are off? MMC? Help please?

Hi, I was looking for any sort of similar stories or experiences.

I had an early scan yesterday at exactly 6 weeks (due to previous ectopic). Not sure exactly when I ovulated as wasn’t tracking, but I have a like clockwork 28 day cycle. LMP was 4th Jan 2023.

Pregnancy was in the right place. my gestational sac was measuring at 6 weeks 4 days, they couldn’t see a feral pole to sent me on a walk, after that walk there was an embryo which was only measuring 4 weeks 6 days? no heartbeat as they said it was too early, but going off my LMP I should be 6 weeks? They’ve said it’s either too early or a missed miscarriage. I’ve had twinging pains but no severe cramping or bleeding.

just so confused. Has anyone got any experiences with this?

This early on it's really difficult to get a precise measurement apparently. I also measured behind by about a week at around 5-6 weeks. You could have ovulated a couple of days late, then it's also possible that implantation took a few days so that would push the dates back further. So a week out is definitely within the norm. Try not to get too disheartened. I was also told "this one might be struggling to stick" but it was all good. I must have also ovulated and/or implanted a bit later than I thought.

with My first at the 12 week scan she was measuring 2 weeks behind. My periods back then were every 28 days on the dot and I got a positive the day af was due so I have no idea how it could be off by 2 weeks. She’s now 11 years old.

I had a scan today for ? ectopic as had a bit of pain . Confirmed pregnancy is in the right place but couldn’t see a yolk sac it’s measures 5-6 weeks said i have to be rescanned in a week to see if it has progressed and a yolk sac / baby can be seen as it could be too early or it’s a missed miscarriage . They said this is why they don’t like to scan this early as other than confirming the pregnancy in the right place they cannot confirm anything else 😔

I have an update

After an awful few days, I finally got in touch with the EPU and they agreed to scan me earlier. In the space of 48 hours, baby had grown 3mm and is now measuring right on my original dates, also a little heartbeat was seen. So over the moon and relieved.

I hope this brings a little hope to people reading this for a healthy pregnancy.

So glad to hear this. I’m going through the same thing after two early miscarriages. I go for a rescan on Friday. Fingers crossed.
