Hi All,

I was wondering if anyone with experience could give me some advice as it’s my first baby.
I have a holiday booked to Marrakech at the end of August, I’ll be about 31 weeks or their abouts. It’s only a 4 hour flight, is it out of the question? Should I cancel?
any advice is welcomed 😫

You’ll probably be fine if you have a straightforward pregnancy with no complications. Just make sure you have good travel insurance that covers pregnancy and birth etc. I’d also look up the hospitals and check which ones have good reviews where the doctors speak English.

in terms of the actual flight, I have flown at 33 weeks and I had compression socks and got up and moved about every 30 mins/ 1 hour to avoid any blood clots.

@BrightSaturn thanks for replying - I used to work for an airline for 9 years so I’m pretty used to flying as a whole, and I know how common it was to have pregnant ladies flying with us with their certificate!
I had a nosey at travel insurers and they don’t treat pregnancy as an illness so like u said I just need to read the fine print and make sure pregnancy related things are covered .. thanks for the tip!
I will wear stockings anyways, if it was longer than 4 hours I’d be more concerned but you’ve put my mind at ease. How did u find flying at 33 weeks were u nervous ? x

I was a bit nervous, mine was a 10 hour flight! But I thought the likelihood of going into Labour during the flight at that point was very low so it actually wasn’t too bad.

only thing was, I couldn’t put the tray table down for my food 😅

@BrightSaturn 😂😂😂😂 well we can’t cancel our holiday anyways because they want £400 to cancel it, and to change dates they want £350 because I would need new flights, so looks like they’ve taken the choice out of our hands really I’m not paying them £400 for nothing 😂 ..
10h is long as it is without being pregnant! 😅 did u have to get a fit to fly certificate? X

I’m 31 weeks now and I would feel ok about flying for 4 hours. With the airport and transfers it would be a bit tiring but if you are just relaxing when you are there then it would be worth it.

@Betsyboo87 yea it’s just a chill poolside trip for a week. ❤️🤞 thanks for replying, gives me hope 😂
