My son and daughter in law are having a baby and so... all of my noted media links also thinks I am having a baby... I am appalled at the influencer pressures that most of the messaging tells me I am pregnant and gaining weight is bad and that there is an Instagram group of women out there talking about NOT gaining weight
and keeping the weight off, I think we need to make a stand. Mothers, fathers, brothers, grandmothers and people out there .. lets give these women a break.

Stop it.

Seek these people out and name them as they are brainwashing our girls/ women and continually reinforcing a false message...
Stop the airbrushing and gliding over the bonding, synthesising and natural pregnancy rhythm that is out there. That is more important than whether you gain a few Kg or Lbs.. Growing a baby is about positive love, nurture and that is the best you can co do for your baby. Isn’t that why you are there, to be a mother???? Look at the research on attachment disorder ....
There is a wave of women annihilating other women and making them feel like shit because they gain a little weight in making their baby.

Stop.

Think.
Act kindly and with realism….. making a baby and bringing them up needs a village full of people … not a pile of insta/tiktok/generation ‘s’ People to erode their confidence and love X
Stop, think, be kind . Leave our girls / women alone.

I guess it’s all about being healthy more than anything. I put on a lot of weight with my first, that really wasn’t good at all. People kept telling me it was ok because I was pregnant but it really wasn’t. With my second I didn’t put on any weight at all until the last two weeks, but I was eating healthier and being very active and I felt much better for it. Obviously some weight gain is normal but at the same time a lot of weight gain should be clearly shown as a negative thing

I am glad that you have found your balance. I agree partially, being healthy is important, yes. But the constant pressure to be thin and perfect in an airbrushed world of social media harms many. Teenagers and young women are under pressure to be perfect and this creates a dysphoria. The costs to many is high.
