Fat bump but not baby bump 11 weeks

Hi mummas to be. I'm exactly at 11 weeks and have put on quite a lot of weight so far (about a stone) despite being pretty sick. Oh well. However, I can see in my tummy that I have a bump (this is baby 2) but it just squishy fat rather than a round, taut baby bump! It must be obvious to others because I've had mums at the school commenting on my pregnancy, though I have told anybody. My clothes fit well everywhere else, but no chance those buttons are staying done up!

So what do you think? Is it possible that my bump has just pushed the fatty bits out? I'm 5'8 and normally a size 12, so not particularly overweight, but boy am I feeling it these days... X

I’m 12 weeks now with my second and had a bit of a “shelf” of skin from my c section that seems a bit bigger. I’ve gained around half a stone because eating is the only thing that helps the nausea but it’s slowly getting a bit better. I feel the same as you just like I’m getting a bit fatter but it’s not enough that I look at all pregnant and I don’t look much different so no one has said anything. I do remember with my first thought that my tummy looked fat before it looked pregnant. I didn’t have a proper baby bump until around 22-24 weeks but looked like I was getting chubby.

Hi OP,

Nothing really to add but I'm in the same position as you. I know how you feel.
I feel like I could have written your post. I'm 12 weeks I've gained a stone and a half but that includes weight from Christmas that I never recovered from then found out I was pregnant. I'm hoping this weight gain will slow down or stop. I'm worried about gaining loads of weight as I gained 5 st in my first pregnancy. (Manage to lose it after) but it has made me conscious about it.

I’m also 11 weeks and have the same as you’re describing. I stood in front of the mirror and stretched my tummy up. There was a lovely little solid baby bump hiding under there 😂 So yes, the baby bump is pushing the fat out. I’m hoping it’ll all stretch out on its own soon 😅

Second baby for me and I'm now 16 weeks. The top part of my stomach is harder like a baby bump but the bottom is wobbly (mind you it's been that way since baby 1!)

Hiya I'm 12 weeks First pregnancy and have a lovely little chub roll that I have always had olus a few christmas pounds. Have been trying to convince hubbi I have a bump he was not convinced until today when he felt it from high up all the way down if I stand up straight its there. 🥰

Just to update on this, my first convincing bump photo was at 36 weeks 🙃

I told family at 26 weeks and spent hours with them before announcing my news, noone noticed and once told everyone's reaction was the same....where!? 😆

My baby lived very high up in my ribs and far back into my body. They only believed me when they felt my belly and baby kicked them off. 🥰
