dihydrocodeine - When to stop taking?

So I have been prescribed dihydrocodeine since 20 weeks pregnant due to severe sciatica (This was prescribed by a doctor at my maternity assessment unit) and I have also been signed off of work for the past two months because of the pain.

As I am now entering the third trimester I wondered when or if I should stop taking it? I’m in agony but I don’t want my baby to be born addicted. I would rather I suffered for a few months rather than this little one!

Hi there! Im in the same boat, i have got ankylosing spondylitis (arthiritis of the spine) and i was cocodomal, i ended up on the maternity triage really poorly being sick stomach pains i thought i was losing the baby this was around christmas time im 26 weeks now, (ended up being severe constipation due to the tablets sorry TMI!) They changed the cocodomal, to Dihydrocodeine and im entering my third trimester this Saturday coming and im just going to stop them completely i think, im too scared of baby being born dependant/ also says it can affect their breathing when they are born! :(
Its just hard when you are in so much pain, sending hugs x
