Hi everyone, crazy I've gone from the conception threads to now pregnancy ones 🥰
So today I'm 12DPO and got my BFP on 4 tests 😆 just coming to share my excitement with you all and wondering if anyone has had a baby before what do I do now? Any advice welcome as this is baby #1 for me.
P.s when does it feel real? 😆

Congratulations! You'll need to contact your gp to register with your midwife. It's a very surreal experience isn't it. For me it didn't feel real until I was physically holding my babies in my arms for the first time. Just found out I'm pregnant with my third and it still doesn't feel real 🤣. Good luck to you.

For me it didn’t feel real until about 25 weeks.

Congratulations 🥳

I'm 24 weeks and still doesn't feel real even though I've got a bump and still suffering with sickness, headaches etc.

I think I'm in denial after lots of miscarriages but when she kicks I get a burst of excitement, even looking at all her bits we've bought her doesn't seem like they're for my baby 😂

Congrats xx

30 weeks here and doesn't feel real 😂

Contact your GP to be referred to midwife’s. You may have to refer yourself like I did but they will be able to tell you who to contact etc

I’m nearly 12 weeks and have had an early scan at 9 weeks so seen baby on the screen but it doesn’t feel real. It’s my second child too but I don’t think it feels real until the baby is in your arms.

Ah congratulations - fab news!!

My drs weren't helpful and I found the hospital I wanted to give birth at and self referred myself online - super easy!!

Im 18 weeks and have bought a few bits but it feels like I am buying for someone elses child - still doesnt feel real.

I will say, once you start telling people - that really helps :)

28 weeks and doesn't feel real, even with the strong movements from within it doesn't seem real 🤣
Congratulations 💕

Hi OP,
Congratulations. Same boat as me but I'm 11DPO with AF due Friday.
I am in shock!! This is our second month for #1 and I have scrolled here all day looking for I don't know what 😂😂.
Good luck to you 💕

Feels real when they're born for me 😄

K37529 · 08/02/2023 21:48

Congratulations 🙂 with my first it didn't feel real until I had my 20 weeks scan when I found out I was having a girl, I went out and bought a few bits and pieces, i think getting stuff organised for her arrival made it feel more real for me

cloudypink · 09/02/2023 14:27

Thanks everyone 😆
I called the Drs today and as always the receptionist wasn't the most friendly and said they don't deal with that and to contact a midwife...all sorted now 😊

@katherine123x Congratulations to you! How exciting🥰 it's so nice talking about it freely on this isn't. I don't know how long I'll be able to keep quiet for 😆x

@cloudypink same!! Just got my email back from them too!

cloudypink · 09/02/2023 14:41

@katherine123x That was nice and quick!
Do you mind me asking where abouts your from? I'm down in the south west so things tend to be a bit slower down here. I probably won't hear anything for a week or so 🤣x
