had an appointment today and my level was 2, midwife said it should be more like 1. Finding conflicting things online saying up to 9 is fine, or up to 3 is fine. I’m worried because two months ago we had a CM leak in the house, the affected fireplace is now disconnected from the gas. Could it still be in the air? Is a level 2 really ok?

I had a 2 at one of mine. Turns out it was coming from the car. She told me they worry about anything over 4 in pregnancy but unless you smoke they don’t really see anything over 1

LuckyMoonstone · 08/02/2023 13:29

@Twoinapod no I don’t smoke but everything in our house is gas so after what happened a couple of months ago it’s made me a bit worried! Alarm hasn’t gone off at home though. But if 2 is reasonable then I’ll just see what the next one is.

@LuckyMoonstone could it be your car chucking fumes in like ours was? Or did you walk along a busy road. And breathe in car fumes on the way to the appointment. Things like that can affect it.

LuckyMoonstone · 08/02/2023 13:53

@Twoinapod maybe but it’s the same car I drove to my appointments with DS and never had any problems. As it’s still fairly low I’ll just keep an eye on it for next time, that’s what the midwife said as well

Mine was about 1.8, hadn’t realised that was above the average!

Midwife said using a lot of candles can impact it. Which I do.

Mulner88 · 08/02/2023 17:07

Mine was also 2. I don't smoke or no family smoke. My midwife didn't seem too concerned. I live in the city so she said it can be normal to be around 2 due to air pollution. Not going to lie, it kind of worried me too but if it was of any concern they would say that. Maybe get an air purifier for your home if you are concerned about gas etc and it's also helpful if you live in the city too

Thanks both I feel more reassured now :)

Mine was also 2, and the midwife said anything under 4 is normal. I don’t smoke and haven’t ever, no one in my close friends or family do and I don’t like in a particularly traffic filled area! My midwife wasn’t worried at all :)

LuckyMoonstone · 08/02/2023 19:27

@Cdoc that’s good to know :)

Mine was 2 and I don’t smoke or drive. Not very busy traffic wise on my way to appointment either. Midwife said it was a normal level. I wasn’t worried.

LuckyMoonstone · 08/02/2023 20:34

@Nik84 phew glad it’s normal :)
