Hi, I worked out I was around 7 weeks pregnant from my last period so booked in for a private reassurance scan. Went there today and had a transabdominal scan to be told I was around 5 weeks 6 days. During the scan the lady said the fetal heart movement was present but I thought that wasn't able to be seen until a week or so later then what I am? Now I'm confused that maybe I'm further along then they said, had anyone had the same issue? Thanks for reading

It all depends when implantation took place, the dates calculated by your period are just an estimate. It is possible to see a flutter/ fetal heartbeat around 6 weeks so could be about right. The gestational age may well change in later scans when they have a little more to see but I wouldn't base it purely on your period dates. Congratulations!x

I calculated being 8 weeks but my early scan said I was only 6 weeks at the time. So baby was tiny but they were able to see the heartbeat! I was told around 6 weeks is usually the earliest they can see a heartbeat
