5 weeks pregnant- Black stringy blood in discharge

I am around 5 and a half weeks pregnant and this morning when I went to the toilet I wiped and there was a few little pieces of black stringy looking blood in my discharge. It almost looked like black thread. Just a couple of little bits though and so far there hasn’t been anymore since.

Has anyone else had something similar to this? I’m just paranoid because I had a miscarriage before at around 9 weeks so I’m just convinced it will happen again.

I’d be grateful if anyone can share their experience of a similar situation or any advice. Thank you.

@jjelisa Hi, thank you for your message. For the next few days after I posted this I had a few spots of brownish-pink discharge then nothing since. Looking back I guess it doesn't seem like it was anything too sinister. I’ve read that at this point in pregnancy, unless you’re bleeding a lot, or the blood is red (fresh), it could be implantation bleeding and is not a cause for concern. I’d monitor it over the next few days and if the bleeding gets worse or you’re in pain call the doctor. Fingers crossed everything is fine🤞❤️
