Recovery after C-section

Hello there

I had a C-section just over three weeks ago and I am recovering really well. I really do not feel i have had major surgury and have been taking it easy up until now. I no longer have to take pain killers and I only feel slightly sore if I have done a little too much during the day.

I have been walking and pushing the pram since two weeks after op but was wondering when i can start lifting the car seat in and out of the car. Obviously I am not driving yet and I am relying on other people to give me lifts etc but it would be nice to start lifting the car seat to and from the travel system.
Can anyone advise me when it is safe to do this.

I remember I was told not to lift anything heavier than a baby for 6 weeks and I think taht was good advice. Unless there's nobody to do it for you, I woldn't start carrying the extra weight just yet - you could cause problems and it sounds like your recovery's going so well so far.

Well, if you feel ok then I would go ahead. I was drving and lifting car seats after 3 weeks post section as I felt fine. Check with your insurance co first though.

took me 4 weeks to gain the courage but i could have easily done it within 3! It was my second section. Check with your ins before you drive though.
