Early Pregnancy

Hi all,

I am 5.5 weeks pregnant and this is my first pregnancy.

I have had very little to no symptoms, although last night i was woken up around 3am with really bad cramp in my lower stomach.

I know cramping is normal in early pregnancy but they say it is like mild menstrual cramps. I very rarely get cramp when on my period, so im a bit worried about how bad this cramping was.

I have had no bleeding at all. Should i be concerned?

I'm also 5 weeks pregnant and worrying about every twinge! Have had no bleeding except about a week before period due (I think implantation). Have been having cramps similar to period pains, and sometimes the odd shooting pain. It is so hard to know where to look for advice, doctors won't see me for another 3 weeks.

I had very very little bleeding, which i think was implantation too. My first midwife appointmet isnt until 8th March. Probably nothing to be concerned about but can't help what goes through your head!

Did you self refer to get an appointment with a midwife?

Im not sure where you are based, but for me i phoned my GP when i first found out i was pregnant. They then passed on the number of the maternity unit, i phoned them and they set me up with an appointment. They sent a letter too with the date of my 12 week scan

If there's no loss of blood or anything I wouldn't worry

Hi, i fell pregnant in 2021 after trying for years but unfortunatly it ended up in miscarriage. Fast forward 2 years and iv managed to fall pregnant again. I feel so scared and worried but so far i havent had the same problems as i did last time 🤞. Im just gone 6 weeks....i took another test today as iv been very paranoid but it came up positive within 10 seconds... if i put the pic up of the test i did on the 7th and the test i did today could someone let me know if this is looking hopeful. I’m just over six weeks pregnant, and went to my GP for the first time yesterday. Sadly the GP didn’t turn up as they had a ‘meeting’ (go NHS!) so I saw the nurse. I asked her if my period type pains I’ve been having were normal and she said ‘no, that’s definitely not normal but you’ll have to wait to speak to a doctor’. I feel like from what I’ve read these kind of pains are quite normal ? This is my first pregnancy and I’m really anxious ! Any advice appreciated

@Florencewhite I had period like cramps up until about 8 weeks probably, but worse in the first 6. I was told as long as they aren't accompanied by bleeding, or: sharp, severe or one sided then they aren't concerning 🤷🏻‍♀️
