Any stories when weight centile jumped between growth scans?

I had a growth scan at 31 weeks (midwife measured bump too small) that showed baby weight at 45%, I was then sent to another growth scan at 34 weeks (midwife measured bump too big) that showed baby weight dropped to 5% and was said to come for another scan in 2 weeks. At the 34 weeks scan the sonographer was struggling to get some measurements due to baby's position, she tried to make baby move to a better position but with no luck took measurements as it was. I am now really hoping that the growth drop was due to measurements error and hoping that there is a chance that next scan will show the growth back on track.

So I am just looking for any stories when your baby's growth jumped up/down in between 2 scans? Is this something realistic to hope for? Thank you!

Hi @Mrslight , with my first pregnancy I had 4 weekly growth scans due to diabetes. Baby was always around the 50th centile every time until 36 weeks and she was suddenly 95th! With a 98th percentile head. Anyway cue 37 week c section. She was really tiny. Less than 6lb!

So yes in my case these growth scans can be incorrect! Although to be fair her head was a bit big 😂

I'm currently 38 weeks pregnant and have had extra scans. At 28 weeks the baby was measuring on the 50th centile but at my 32 week scan the baby was on the 29th centile. My consultant wasn't concerned about this though and when I had my 36 week scan he had jumped back up the to the 49th centile! I'm not now due any more scans and they're happy for me to wait to go into labour naturally so it will be interesting to see how much he weighs when born.

Baby was around 40 percent. Then thirty. Then ten. Then twenty. Then born at overb8 pounds two weeks late.
Headsize went up and down too. She seems ok now. X
