Don't like midwife

Hi, I've had same midwife nearly everytime I got for the antenatal checks and she's annoyed me everytime. She said because I was smoking before I knew I was pregnant and stopped when I found out I'm not high-risk for a small baby because I could have damaged the placenta she referred me to growth 28, 31, 34 and 37 weeks pregnant I'm currently 28 weeks pregnant and went for first growth one the other day and they said everything was completely fine, I also had to see "get help to stop smoking" team aswell and I was like I don't smoke so I don't understand all this. Anyway they said they're discharging me and I don't need any further growth scans. Everytime I've been to the midwife check my CO2 has never been over 2 which anything up to 4 is considered normal range. I've just been looking through my notes and she has written that at my first booking appointment I had a reading of more than 8 which is a complete lie, it was 2 so I'm feeling annoyed about this and don't want to see her anymore. Sorry to make this so long but feeling stuck and don't know what to do.

I meant to put the midwife said I am highrisk and will need extra scans sorry.

Is she your named midwife? Contact the midwife team and ask for a new midwife and explain your reasons why. I’m not too keen on my named midwife and so normally book my follow up appointments on a day I know is not her clinic day. It’s never been a problem.

I would take the extra scans if I was you, no negatives about having them just means you get to see your baby more often and have the extra checks which is a bonus. Most would jump at the chance.

I had an awful experience with the first midwife I saw at my booking in appointment. I wrote down everything incase I needed to complain later. I thought she may have been having a bad day and gave her the benefit of the doubt for my second appointment but didn’t see her again. Haven’t actually seen the same midwife twice 🤷‍♀️

Id contact your local midwife hub or hospital however it works in your area and ask for a different midwife. You’re supposed to feel safe and be able to ask questions etc and she may not make you feel like that now.

Yeah I don't want to see her again I've contacted the midwife team and they said they'll let me know if I can change. Also can't have the scans because the hospital discharged me because they said there's no need for them.

I didnt have a problem with my first pregnancy but that was six years ago and there was different midwifes then. It's been multiple things she's done now and I've had enough so hopefully can change.

I didn’t like my GP midwife either, she was horrible - in fact I don’t know anyone who had a nice word to say about her! My trust has drop in centres instead so I just moved to the drop in centre midwives which was so much better, they were all lovely. Do you know if your trust has the same?

Mine is based at my gp ...
but i can go to other clinics for my apps if i ring and book there instead
they may just let u know other clinics running in nearby areas and to book tbere instead??

Hopefully apparently she works at 3 different gp surgeries and the other midwife is off on maternity leave.
