Hi all,

Just found this forum today and think it's great. Loads of information and feels very secure.

I am currently 18+2 and very excited about our surprise pregnancy. I had my first scan early Dec and not due my anomaly scan for another two weeks. It's been so long in between with no check up and feeling a bit anxious...

I think I have been feeling something the last few weeks, a kind of wiggly fluttering feeling. I think it must be baby but being a bit restrained. Did you all feel a kick by now? I am so scared about anomaly scan and finding something wrong.

Anyway, lovely to be part of this forum

N

Hi niknakF. congratualtions on your pg and welcome to mumsnet. It's addicitive you know; once you get sucked in you're lost forever

There will be an Antenatal thread for your stage of pregnancy (baby addled brain can't work out from 18 weeks wwhen you will be due). Introduce yourself over there and you can share the highs and lows of your pregnancy there....

...but don't neglect all the other topics.

Hi, i think i felt my first baby move around 18 weeks (fluttering)

welcome to Mumsnet

welcome niknak, i am preg with my first baby and felt movements exactly at the 19 week mark.

i know what you mean about the 20 wk scan. i was absolutley terrified. 12wk scan, i was overwhelmed with happy emotion. second scan i had to do my best not to cry from pure fear, my DH had had no idea just how scared i'd been. all fine with me BTW [grin[

do take ladymardy's advice and go check out your duedate buddies. i've only been on mumsnet for six months, but def the best bit for me has been the antenatal threads with other people due same time as me,

good luck and man congrats

Hello and congratulations NNF.

It's weird and lovely all the sametime when you realise it's your baby moving. Then when you get used to it, it becomes comforting.

I think nearly everyone goes for the 20 week scan shit scared, so you're not alone!

Welcome to the nut house!!

Congratulations on pregnancy - those early flutterings are odd and lovley all at the same time.

Although I'm not pregnant (hope not Im 51 - but did have last baby when I was nearly 41) my eldest DS and his partner are 23 weeks pregnant with their first and my first grandchild. Very excited.

My DIL came to see us at about 17 weeks and said 'I feel like I am having a tiny panic attack in my tummy - what the hell is it' When I told her she was so relieved. How great.

Dont worry about the 20 week scan - easier said than done I know. I have put my grandSONS scan picture on my profile. It is ace....
