Did anyone ever just come off their pill without telling their partner ?

Im asking as I was speaking in my friend group. There was 10 of us there today and at least 5 said they did this with their second???

so they conceived their 2nd child this way and that their DHs adapted to it good well because there was nothing they could do

I was shocked I didn’t think this was common? Or right or am I just too uptight

I hope it’s not common, what a horrible thing to do.

pebbles3004 · 03/02/2023 19:35

Absolutely not, that seems like scandalous behaviour!!! Do people really do this?! I mean I'm sure there are some people, but really half of the people you were with today?! Wow

Season0fTheWitch · 03/02/2023 19:39

Isn't that classed as rape? If a man took off a condom without telling his partner it would be.

It's not rape! Its entrapment

Season0fTheWitch · 03/02/2023 21:23

Just googled the definition, it's sexual assault!

It's not sexual assault. Not in the slightest

GoT1904 · 04/02/2023 16:35

What a horrible thing to do though. If my partner trapped me into a pregnancy I'd be mortified.

Keepyourmummysboys · 04/02/2023 16:40

No of course not. What an awful Thing to do. Fucking hell.

Twoinapod · 04/02/2023 21:07

I’d definitely say that’s in the realms of sexual assault. The partner hasn’t consented to sex without birth control and is under the impression that it is being used.

Definitely a terrible thing to do, it would make me look very differently at any friends that did that

There’s been at least one conviction for rape when a man removed a condom without consent. I can see an argument for why this should be a crime too. I get it’s not the same but still terrible to do.

mamaharriet2011 · 04/02/2023 21:24

coming off the pill is the hardest thing i've ever done in my 12 yers... goodluck lsades

Twoinapod · 04/02/2023 21:35

@Emmamoo89 i noticed you’ve said that on every comment agreeing that it’s sexual assault. Makes me wonder if it’s something you have done yourself? They have not consented to sex without birth control. Without consent it is in fact sexual assault whether you personally would class it as that or not.

What an awful thing to do, no I don't think this is common, it's so deceptive, how do their husbands trust them.

Carrieonmywaywardsun · 08/02/2023 00:37

@Emmamoo89 it is sexual assault legally, if a man removed a condom and impregnated a woman without telling her, intentionally, that would be assault too.

It's a horrific thing to say you'd rather be assaulted like that than in another way. Assault is assault

My bad but I've been sexually assaulted before. I know what it's like and it's awful.

sommeliermama · 09/02/2023 15:12

I agree this is awful. My partner's ex wife did this, he wasn't ready to have a baby (they were still quite young at the time) but she came off her pill without telling him. They ended up divorced a year after their baby was born.

Not a nice story but it shows what zero trust and communication can do to a relationship
