Hi ladies,

I’m wondering if anyone has done something similar and it turned out ok?

I was asleep on my left side and woke up from a bad dream, I was awake but still half asleep and I stupidly very aggressively rolled over on to my other side… but partly laid on my stomach.

Our bed is quite soft and I’m only 14 weeks pregnant, I haven’t had any bleeding but my stomach has been a bit sore and tender this morning.

I’m worried I’ve caused some damage. I see post after post on here about it being ok to sleep on your stomach, but I’m just worried I may have caused some trauma by how hard I slammed myself down into the bed.

Thanks in advance. X

I'm sure you will be fine. Your bump cant be very big at 14 weeks. I think I was still sleeping on my front then. I had stomach pains around that time but it was just the uterus expanding and everything stretching. The baby is also very cushioned inside you so unless it was particularly hard on a solid surface it will be fine. No bleeding is also a good sign, but if you are worried go to your EPU.

Try not to worry OP. I've done exactly the same thing so many times and they're usually very well protected in there.
Im 36 weeks and regularly wake up on my back. Just move when you notice you're in the wrong position and try to fall asleep in the 'correct' way.
When baby starts kicking it'll hopefully give you some reassurance but there's so much pressure on how women sleep/position themselves in pregnancy. We're more resilient than we think, sounds like you're doing the right things. When you're unconscious there's only so much you can do!
If you're still sore tomorrow you could always ask for a checkup?
