Placenta previa can I have sex?

I am only 11 weeks and 4 days and was just told yesterday I have complete placenta previa and told it may or may not move . It was a private scan and the doctor was a bit vague. I don't get to see my own doc for two and a half weeks.

Of course I went googling and am scared but also want to know if I can have sex with hubby or not. I saw that it's dangerous but assume that's later on.

I don't want to be on pelvic rest for no reason if I don't need to be as doc yesterday didn't say anything about that but google scared the crap out of me.

I wasn't told until 20 week scan I had placenta previa. It didn't seem to be picked up at 12 week scan. However I would just text or phone your midwife and ask?

I had a complete previa which did not move and was hospitalised for bleeding from 31 weeks onwards.

no-one ever really said I needed full pelvic rest (although I got that in hospital on bed rest!), certainly not that early. You could try fine positions with less deep penetration. I didn’t take the risk from finding out at 20 weeks but I’m not up for much sex when pregnant anyway though so was not a problem for me!

I only found out at the 20 week scan, we occasionally had sex until that scan. After that scan I asked the midwife and she advised not to. Call your midwife and ask?
