20 weeks scan - small head

Hello ladies, just been for our 20 weeks scan.

All perfect apart from the the baby’s head measuring a little bit on the small side. We have been referred to Fetal Medicine for further checks. Has anyone gone through this, if so what was the outcome, how was the baby?

Hi, I’ve had the exact same thing today. My boy was breech position they couldn’t get proper measurements but said he was on 7th percentile and head is measuring small so I’ve been referred to fetal medicine too and having another scan in 2 weeks as they said this one was classed as incomplete with him being laid awkwardly. I’m so worried as this never happened with my first pregnancy so I don’t have a clue what’s going on x

hey Chloxx, it was the same for me with my first then my second the HC was measuring on the 4th centile. was refered to fetal medicine for extra scans and they checked the head, brain and it appeared normal just on the small side. they offered to do some tests on the baby which i declined and settled for MRI scan which didn’t end up happening as they said i was too far gone now about 28weeks so it was decided the scan would happen after birth. Delivered a day before due date 39+6 and baby’s head was on the 34th centile very average.
