Low HCG - any success stories?

Hi,

Please someone save my sanity!

So after thinking that I had missed my LH surge, I found out on Monday (10DPO - 30/01/23) that I was pregnant - I tested with my FMU and had a real light line. The test from 29/01/23, when I look back now, is there but it's so faint that you'd need to hold it at an angle to see it. I believe I ovulated either CD14 or CD15, however due to a miscarriage in December, I wanted to get my bloods checked right away. I went and had them checked yesterday (12DPO - 01/02) and they were 17. I'm now freaking out because I think that's too low (I know it's all about them doubling etc. rather than an independent number), but I am crippled with anxiety about this one ending the same way. I have another test on tuesday to see what they are then but I have roughly worked out:
30/1/23 - 10DPO - 8.5?? - not confirmed - just estimate for it to have doubled to 17
1/2/23 - 12DPO - 17
7/3/23 - 18DPO - 136 - number it will need to be to have doubled since last test

I have read that anything under 100 at 4 weeks/14DPO is likely nonviable. However, other studies of women who have gone on to have successful pregnancies that I have looked in to have it listed that 5 is the minimum number in weeks 3 & 4, with this increasing to 15 in week 5.

I have uploaded a pic of my tests for the last few days. Today's seems to be slightly darker than yesterday so I have everything crossed that this means they are rising. I'm just looking for any reassurance from people who have started with low HCG and gone on to have successful pregnancies!

Thanks xxx

If you think you missed your LH surge could you actually be a bit earlier dpo than you thought? Your lines have definitely progressed which is a good sign!

positivethoughts1 · 02/02/2023 11:52

I came to say the same thing as PP, are you temping? Because if not... and you missed your LH surge you might not be as many DPO as you think? Xx

GW25 · 02/02/2023 19:17

@ChloeN @positivethoughts1 so I started testing for LH on CD11, completely missed CD13 and then carried on right through to CD19 which makes me think I may have surged on CD13 and ovulated CD14-15? I wish we had a way of telling exact days of everything 😂

The thing that does confuse me is how implantation can affect your HCg levels. I keep reading about how at 14DPO you should be over 100 - but if one person implanted at 7DPO and one at 11DPO wouldn’t that affect those numbers at 14DPO?

I’m just driving myself crazy with worry though, I started off feeling really positive and now after those results, it’s like I’m just waiting for something to go wrong. Xx

I was 57 at 15 DPO then 158 at 17 DPO. I got my BFP at 9 DPO so likely implanted around 7 DPO. I also thought my HCG was low and worried about it but now nearly 12 weeks and still pregnant so far 🤞🏻

At 4+3 with my ds my levels were 19 he was fine !

ChloeN · 02/02/2023 20:45

@GW25 yes I’d agree surely someone who implants earlier would have much higher levels at 14dpo, they’ve had those extra days to double! Xx

GW25 · 02/02/2023 20:55

@HJA87 @Confusedaboutovulation thank you so so much! You've really helped to give me a boost. I've booked myself in for another blood test today to check (will be 48 hours since my last) and I'm hoping they've doubled. My test from this morning is darker than the day of the bt so hoping that's a good sign 🙏xx

@ChloeN ok phew, I'm glad that's not just me going mad! 😂I've been testing every day since around 27/01 but 29/01 is the only day I actually saw anything - but even then, it's so so light you can't see it in a photo! Hoping I just had low hcg to start with and it doubled to 17 over that first couple of days! xx

In the nicest possible way OP, you need to stop googling, stop testing, and probably take a break from here for a few days - you are driving yourself crazy over something you have absolutely zero control over. I say this as someone who has suffered miscarriage and I know how stressful being pregnant is after experiencing loss, but nothing anyone says, or any test says, is going to change the outcome, and all you are doing is torturing yourself. It's not healthy. Instead, be kind to yourself and take a rest from all this searching - because you won't find the answers. Only time will tell you. I really hope this pregnancy is successful, and I really hope you find a way to manage your anxiety (otherwise it's going to be a very long and very difficult 9 months)

ChloeN · 02/02/2023 21:21

@GW25 yes I’d say you’d only just implanted but it’s rising now!☺️ i tested everyday from finding out so I know the feeling, I would of gone more crazy if I didn’t test personally I just need to see the darker line each day xx

GW25 · 03/02/2023 01:09

@sexnotgenders thank you for your honesty - I know it sounds like I'm being super irrational at the moment, but I think it's the lack of control I have that's stressing me out more. You're right though - I've had a word with myself and know I need to chill out and there's nothing I can do to to help or change things so I just need to ride it out.

@ChloeN I totally feel you - I think the testing is the only way I have been reassuring myself that something's still there and all is ok. Ironically, to what I've written above, I tested this morning and the test is noticeably darker than Wednesday (when I had the bt), so that has really calmed me down too. The only reason I've carried on testing is because I have them in the house and I have no control 😂I just got another blood test today (dr said I can have another one) but as it's a long weekend here in NZ, I unfortunately won't get the results until tuesday! However, I have one last FRER which I know I will cave and use before that 😂xx

I have low hcg always have super faint lines and my gp sent blood tests with my daughter. It slowly rose but they booked a scan at 8 weeks. My hcg is always so low up until 6-8 weeks pregnant

ChloeN · 03/02/2023 08:14

@GW25 I had so many tests so I just used them all up🙈 at the start like 3 different brands a morning, I just couldn’t help it🤣 ah that’s fustrating but at least you have the frer to tide you over the weekend 😂 xx

Vienna1993 · 16/09/2023 13:36
