Migraine - sign of miscarriage?

Hello, I'm hoping someone can help put my mind at ease :)

I am just over 4 weeks pregnant, with some symptoms present.

My concern is that I get these migraine like headaches that are related to my ear filling up with liquid - normally a day or so before my period and then during, so I always assumed these were menstrual migraines caused by drop in estrogen.

However, I had one yesterday / today (it normally lasts up to three days). I'm basically worried there is something wrong and I may end up having chemical pregnancy / early miscarriage. On top of this I have been experiencing some light cramping - but I've read this alone is normal.

So, did anyone else experience headaches / migraines in first trimester? Are they normal? Did any other mum had menstrual migraines and then suffered bad headaches during pregnancy?

I'll be extremely grateful for any replies! Thank you :)

I always suffered with menstrual migraines really badly to the point I got the piercing to help migraines. This stoped my migraines all together except when I was pregnant I had them again for 2 weeks straight at 10 weeks
Just as my morning sickness stopped. They may be related to the hormone changes you are experiencing. I also had another pregnancy that ended in a missed miscarriage this took 7 weeks to diagnose and I didn't have a single migraine. So as much as I can't promise you everything will be ok I wouldn't say it's a sign of miscarriage and stress will only make the migraines worse so try and relax have a warm bath maybe a cold compress on the back of your neck. Paracetamol is perfectly safe. Take care I hope everything goes well in your pregnancy xxx

Echoing what others have said really, I just found out I’m pregnant with DC(3) and I had a migraine yesterday, I assume I’m around 5 weeks. Looking back over my notes from my other two pregnancies I got migraines with both of them between 4-6 weeks and I’m like you mine are triggered by hormones. 🤷‍♀️

I had migraines more often in pregnancy, especially my second.

Thank you everyone!

I'm very prone to migraines - and my key triggers are hormones, stress and lack of sleep. All things I got hit with over last week. I had a lingering "almost headache" on and off for few days, but yesterday it hit me with full force and I panicked.

All other pregnancy symptoms are present and getting stronger, I've had no spotting / bleeding and only some cramping. So fingers crossed it works out ok - I'm off for a 6 weeks scan next Friday so I should know for sure

Again - thank you everyone!
