So I had a miscarriage at the start of January and I have just discovered I am already pregnant again before getting my period back. This was not planned and I’m scared that my body hasn’t had time to recover and that I will have another miscarriage 😪 Has this happened to anyone else and how did your pregnancy progress? Thanks in advance xx

@H25322 you're incredibly fertile after being pregnant / having a miscarriage and many people get pregnant straight away and all is fine. 🤞🏻 this is the same for you.

custardbear · 01/02/2023 18:11

My Obs consultant was a Miscarriage expert and she said don't wait, you're more fertile, primed and we'll work out the dating other ways
Congratulations!

It happened to me twice. Both times the babies were healthy. Like others have said, after a MC, it's one of your most fertile times.

Cdoc · 01/02/2023 18:45

It happened to me, no period after medical management for mmc in May last year. I’m currently 35+4 and so far so good 🤞🏼good luck OP

Yes miscarried end of Nov, pregnant beginning Jan. Everything went really well born at 36 weeks, so tad early but really healthy.
Try to relax, I know it is hard not to expect the worst, but try to stay positive.

MaoamAddict · 01/02/2023 19:03

Happened to me twice, miscarriage, next cycle pregnant, miscarried that one and next cycle pregnant again, now 20 weeks with a healthy pregnancy

AnnieFarmer · 01/02/2023 19:06

Yes. He’s 16 now.

TheShellBeach · 01/02/2023 19:07

It's also happened to me twice and all was well.

Fell pregnant with first after 1 period following miscarriage and fell pregnant with second straight after a miscarriage and he is a healthy 2 year old. Honestly don't worry, they dated it from miscarriage for 12 weeks scan so just enjoy. For me it felt like my body miscarried first to be ready for a healthy pregnancy.

Putdownthecake · 01/02/2023 19:10

I had a miscarriage at 7 weeks in February 2022. Had another positive test April 2022. Had some early bleeding but a scan showed healthy baby. she is now nursing on me.

Congratulations op, I understand how you feel. Fingers crossed for a healthy pregnancy for you

Margo34 · 01/02/2023 19:11

Multiple consecutive miscarriages for me, heart breaking. Spent 2022 in its entirety pregnant or miscarrying. I had some investigative tests bloods and scans - some markers close to the threshold but nothing untoward so just had luck unfortunately.

Currently pregnant 30w though the anxiety has been HUGE.

Good luck in your pregnancy!

Margo34 · 01/02/2023 19:11

*so just had bad luck

H25322 · 01/02/2023 20:09

Thank you all so much for your responses, they have given me a lot of reassurance 🥰 xx

In early 2022 I miscarried at 17 weeks, it was devastating. I fell pregnant again 6 weeks later which was unexpected and I had all the feelings you do. I won't lie and say it was an easy pregnancy, I struggled to truly relax at any stage, particularly up to and around the time I miscarried. I honestly never imagined actually coming home with a healthy baby, but I'm currently sat on the sofa snuggling my newborn Smile

I'm sorry you're going through this, the mantra I would constantly tell myself when I was still pregnant was 'different pregnancy, different baby, different outcome'. It wasn't written in the stars that because something awful had happened before that it had to happen again.

Needtobuildabridge · 01/02/2023 20:44

I'm in the same boat @H25322. Miscarried at the end of December, now 5 weeks pregnant. It's so scary, but I'm just trying to stay hopeful. When are you due?

H25322 · 01/02/2023 20:58

Yeah I feel the exact same, the anxiety is just taking over 🙈 I’m only just over 4 weeks so I’m due on 9th October, how about you?

OP posts:
Needtobuildabridge · 01/02/2023 21:18

Yep due on the 8th. Long cycle, so my apps are saying 5 weeks, but I know it's only 4+3.

On Monday,I got to '2-3 weeks' on a CB digital, which was a massive step for me. Today I've done an hcg blood test.

How far did you get last time?

northernnurse · 01/02/2023 21:22

Yes, miscarried at 8 weeks, pregnant straight after with no period in between, she was 10 yesterday xx

H25322 · 01/02/2023 21:36

@Needtobuildabridge Yeah my test said the same, I couldn’t believe it 😂 I miscarried at 7 weeks. What about you?

OP posts:
Needtobuildabridge · 01/02/2023 21:50

@H25322 6 weeks, but my tests never got very strong, and I didn't get past '1-2' on the CB.
All we can do is stay positive and hope. It's making me very anxious, but there's not much I can do about it!

H25322 · 01/02/2023 22:38

@Needtobuildabridge Yep that’s all we can do! Good luck to you, hopefully we will both get our rainbow babies ❤️

@H25322 @Needtobuildabridge I'm exactly in the same situation! I miscarried on Christmas Eve (I was 8 weeks but the pregnancy stopped developing at 6 weeks), and I'm now pregnant again without a period since. I think I'm 4+3 and due 8th October. I'm happy to be pregnant again but I'm not very hopeful because I have had 3 MC already (Sept 2021 at 6w, Dec 2021 at 11w and this one), and never had a successful pregnancy. Also, my boobs are not sore at all, and they were at this stage with my 3 other pregnancies so I'm worried that's not a good start... I have been referred to the recurrent miscarriage clinic but didn't have my first appointment yet (it's end of February) and don't really know what to do with that... I guess I will call my GP and see what they advise, maybe the clinic will see me sooner. Fingers cross for a healthy pregnancy for us 🤞🌈

This thread is so inspiring to read. I sadly had a MMC a couple of weeks ago ( baby stopped growing at 9 weeks but didn't find out until 12 week scan 😢) I'm ready to start TTC again so it's great to hear that people don't wait until after periods etc and are having healthy pregnanacies.
All the best @H25322 I'm sending lots of positive vibes your way and I hope you find a way to relax and enjoy your pregnancy

Thanks for the mantra @doingitalllagain I'll be using that when hopefully I'm pregnant again soon

Moo86 · 17/03/2023 11:57
