Hi, sonographer didn’t say anything more so assuming shouldn’t worry too much but first baby so can’t help but worry. I googled and some people got a follow up scan but they didn’t mention that to me so just wanting some reassurance had anyone else been in the same boat and it all was ok x

Might just be a date miscalculation from your last period! Would try not to worry

Hi there, I am a registred midwife. I can't give individualised advice, this is just general information about maternity care in the UK. The dating scan takes place around 11-14 weeks, this is when women get their estimated due date. The scan at 18-22 week looks at the baby's anatomy - the structure of the brain, heart, spine etc. It does not measure the baby or date the pregnancy. You need to go back to the 1st scan you had and find out your estimated due date. It's often different by a few days or even a week from the date calculated from your last menstrual period. If any concerns, you can discuss it further at your next midwifery appointment. It's not critical at this stage. I hope it helps.

They don’t date the pregnancy at the 20 week scan so I wouldn’t worry.

Most trusts are now trying to scan women at 19 weeks instead of 20. Maybe your dates are slightly out.

@Tiredbehyondbelief thanks for this ❤️. I have had a few reassurance scans following previous loss and 12 week scan and they all measured baby accurate to my estimated due date so was a bit worried when this was behind but thanks this has reassured me xx

Bubba might just be on the dinky side, but it won't be anything to worry about or they'd have flagged it up. Your placenta etc will have been checked.

Plus they can just grow so fast between scans! I've had extra growth scans this time and baby was bang on 50th percentile at 20w but over 99th at 28w 😐 I wouldn't worry. I know it's easier said than done. Xxx
