There was a gestational sac in the uterus with a yolk sac but no fetal pole. There is a subchorionic haematoma adjacent to the sac. There is a cyst on the left ovary. There is fluid in the pouch of Douglas.

They're just findings and don't give any particular diagnosis or other info.

@Regenbogen22 it's just frustrating. Told to come back in 10 days but I feel I'm walking on eggshells until then. Even my obstetrician couldn't give me much info. 😥

@BeautifulJames I know the feeling. Unfortunately it's just a waiting game. It's so hard having zero control over something!

Twizbe · 01/02/2023 14:10

At this stage there really isn't anything to tell. It's so early on that it could be fine or it could not be.

OdeToBarney · 01/02/2023 14:12

How many weeks are you OP?

snowflake29 · 01/02/2023 14:14

I understand the feeling of just not knowing. Honestly though sometimes it's a complete guessing game whether a pregnancy is viable or not.

BeautifulJames · 01/02/2023 14:17

@OdeToBarney we thought between 6 and 7 weeks. My cycles have been getting longer and longer lately so I'm unsure.

@snowflake29 it is awful. I've had 3 miscarriages before this one. Fingers crossed in 10 days there will be progress

Ah okay, still early then. Most IVF clinics won't do an early pregnancy scan until 8 weeks to confirm viability. It's a good sign you have the yolk sac and there's still time for the fetal pole to be seen. I'm assuming you has the scan because of bleeding?

BeautifulJames · 01/02/2023 14:26

@OdeToBarney no bleeding. I have complex pregnancies and required an early scan before being put on a plethora of medication. I normally go on a load at 10 weeks but this scan was for steroids at 8.

The fetal pole is the first part of the embryo development - where the embryo has emerged from the sac and is visible.
