Went out for a meal last night and have woken up at 2pm being violently sick and shaking like a leaf... do I need to call triage or anything? A bit worried x

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

See how you get on over the next few hours. Main problem is dehydration if you are being sick so just keep having little sips of water. It’s a bit too early to be food poisoning more like poor food hygiene so it should pass quite quickly

@xttcbabyno1x
Hey, so sorry you are feeling awful, I'm not sure if it's food poisoning I had or a bug but last week I woke at 1am being so violently sick. I felt absolutely awful! I was then throwing up at least once an hour for just under 24 hours, I couldn't keep even water down :( after 24 hours I felt marginally better and then the next day was okay, I'm 21 weeks pregnant now and baby is fine.

I really really hope you feel better soon xxx

Moosh18 · 01/02/2023 05:41

Just to add, all the guidance I read was if you aren't keeping fluids down or still being sick after 48 hours go to triage. My midwife said the same, I think if I'd stil been throwing up after 24 I'd of gone then xx

Agree with other posters, keep hydrated and rest, I had horrific food poisoning from chicken when I was pregnant and everything was fine.

I'd ring the MW first thing to get advice, but yes, keep sipping water
