First trimester (5 week cramping) explained

I just wanted to thank the many pregnant mommies before me who wrote about this topic and offered some sound advice as I was out of my mind with anxiety after having slight cramping on my right side for about 2-3 weeks. It felt like a dull, achy feeling and was consistent. I was really freaked out not knowing what it was.

I Googled the topic extensively, and almost convinced myself I had nearly all the signs of an ectopic (sans the bleeding). Just saw my dr today and he explained my cramps were a result of implantation. Baby is in the right place 🙌I didn't realise one could experience implantation cramps at five weeks so I was shocked. He also confirmed a corpus luteum on my right ovary, so this could also explain the slight ache.

Just wanted to share my experience with others who may be experiencing something similar, and worrying as well, as no one prepared me for feeling any kind of ache after conceiving.

Thank you! I had read the same as you about ectopic and also about implantation but was under the impression implantation happened long before 5 weeks! But it's good to know

5 weeks here and still having the cramps and pulling sort of feelings mainly on the left, guess baby is burrowing on the left side 😂

Hi ladies, I hope your pregnancies are progressing well ❤️

I’ve been TTC for 9 cycles now. Some months I get ovulation pains/cramps, and this month I had them on right side. I’m now 9DPO and been getting the same/similar pains again, which I’ve not had at this stage before. Obviously not ovulation again, so I’m curious and optimistically hoping it might mean something else is happening in there (does a right sided egg usually result in right sided implantation?!).

did either of you have the cramps/pains start as early as this? 🤞🏻

Hey @Sierra26 i had cramping 2 days before my period, then the day before I was supposed to have my period I still had cramping and brown spotting in my knickers. I thought this was my period coming however it didn’t and I tested positive 12DPO. So I had cramping from 11 DPO. I’m only 5+3 , hoping everything will be ok

Hi @Sierra26 - my previous pregnancy ended in MC unfortunately, but I am pregnant again now, this time I had cramps from 3-4dpo and then on and off right through until now, currently almost 5 weeks pregnant again and less cramps now but it really felt like AF was arriving from 3-4 dpo this time!!

It's so hard to say, this time def felt different from last time for me but I've heard that's common! Good luck 🤞

That’s all so interesting. Sorry for your previous loss @suz2285

well shortly after I posted, I started spotting (v light pink and brown) which I always do pre-AF. The pains I mentioned have stopped. BFN yesterday at 11DPO. Assuming at this point I’m out as the spotting is exactly the same as normal, even if it did start slightly earlier than expected…

Never out till AF arrives @Sierra26 but I every cycle for me has different symptoms so you just can't ever tell

Last cycle I was so nauseous on 8dpo I was like ohhh maybe, but nope!

Then just the weird cramping right from ovu this time followed by BFP! It's such a rubbish confusing time
