Hello, no it didn't get better with me, although I didn't vomit but probably due to the fact that I asked for omeprazole from my GP, you should too and hopefully help you manage your symptoms!

Yes I have about 2-3 flare ups in the first trimester! I got omeprazole from my GP which put it away in 1-2 days so defo try that! As for Gaviscon, I take the Advance one after heavy meals/trigger foods to help prevent and so far it's been stable for the past 2 weeks or so!

Speak to GP if it's that bad.
With my first my GP said to basically put up with it, its normal. Second time though, different GP, this time no sickness, I was told to speak to them as soon as it gets worse and they'll prescribe something.

For my reflux during third trimester though i found regular helpings of plain yoghurt helped. Not for the immediate relief but to build up the good bacteria, takes about a week.

Another vote for omeprazole. I soldiered on with Rennie’s for ages, omeprazole was like switching the whole thing off.

Omeprazole is amazing. Cannot recommend it strongly enough!

@Shanshan1002 you can ask to up the dosage or switch to an alternative non-PPH type drug... Speak to your GP!

Mulner88 · 31/01/2023 17:35

@Shanshan1002 yeh check with your gp if it's not working. Could it be pregnancy sickness or a mixture or is it just acid reflux? I got acid reflux even before pregnancy and know I will probably be crippled with it in my 3rd trimester!!

Omeprazole helps keeps the acid neutral doesn't necessarily stop sickness
u need anti sickness too
cyclizine or Prochlorperazine
