Sounds like carpal tunnel syndrome. I had it with my DS. I'm pg (32 weeks) and no signs this time round. It's to do with pressure being put on the nerves in the wrist with excess fluid I think. Hopefully the symptoms will go when you have your baby or it may need operating on (let's not get pessamistic at this stage!)

Worth having a word with midwife/gp just to make sure. It is annoying when you wake up having to wake up your hands as well but it's nothing sinister.

Good luck with your baby!

I've been getting something similar - especially if i've rolled on to my back on my sleep. I read somewhere that it could be to do with the weight of the baby putting pressure on one of your main ateries and thus affecting your circulation. Urghh.

Agree it sounds like carpal tunnel syndrome. Wrist splints worn at night can help keep your wrists in the best position to reduce pressure on nerves, so may be worth considering. Definately worth seeing your GP as they may be able to supply them (or point you in the right direction locally)
