Maternity pay

I work as a teaching assistant and earn £1082 a month (Part Time 3 days)

My maternity pay states 90% pay for 6 weeks then...

(ii) An employee who declares in writing that she intends to return to work will for the subsequent 12 weeks’ absence receive half a week’s pay plus SMP, where eligible, without deduction except by the extent to which the combined pay and SMP (or MA and any dependant’s allowances if the employee is not eligible for SMP) exceeds full pay. Alternatively, the equivalent amount (i.e. 6 weeks’ pay) may be paid on any other mutually agreed distribution.

But half a week's pay for me is £135.25 with SMP being £156.66 so that's £291.91 which exceeds my full pay...

So then surely that means fall into the last sentence of the quote above "the equivalent amount (6 weeks' pay) may be paid on any other mutually agreed distribution"

Has anyone been in this situation before?

No helpful advice here but I'm wondering the same as I work 3 days a week too. I was given my maternity pay schedule the other day and when I have the combination of half pay and stat pay, im apparently going to be earning more on Mat leave than I would do if I was actually working?? Kind of like what you've said in your post

Yes I think you will just get paid your normal amount for those 12 weeks.
