I had my first baby 7 weeks premature and after my waters burst I gave birth 1 hour 20 mins later (no pain prior to waters) I’m worried about how quickly my second labour will be and the likelihood of the baby being premature again… anyone have any positive stories on similar situations to help my nerves?

Similar for me. My second was early but not premature and still fast but not as fast! I was much more confident in terms of advocating for myself.

@bobbybrownbrush how terrifying. Do you mind me asking if any cause was found and if you did anything different with your final full term baby?

Prem baby at 28 weeks then my second tried to come at 29 weeks; very positive fetal fibronectin too. Managed to keep her in until 34weeks.

No reasons as to why; just spontaneous labour

Mumclub · 29/01/2023 22:02

I’m not sure what a positive fetal fibronectin is as it isn’t a test I had… I was told I was 1cm at 32 weeks then observed for 4 days with tablets to ‘stop/delay’ labour, discharged then waters broke at home the morning after

Most people go on to have a lovely term baby! Best of luck OP - thank you!

My mum had my older sister at 30 weeks. Then had me and I was 2 weeks late! I think it depends on why you went into early labour (dm says she had sister early due to infection).

BettySweaty · 29/01/2023 22:14

Ds1 6 weeks early. Jaundice. 5lb 4oz.
Ds 2 10 days late 8lb 10.

Both natural births with gas and air.

@bobbybrownbrush thanks for answering and I’m so sorry for your losses and the stress you must have gone through with it all. How lovely you have three DC at home. I’m 22 weeks with my rainbow baby after a TFMR and so worried about going into spontaneous preterm labour. Not sure why I’ve got it into my head. Anyway - sorry for slight thread tangent !
