DS1 was born with a 39cm head which I understand is very large. He is 2.5yrs and healthy so it is just genetics. I had an easy and fairly quick labour up to the point of pushing. I then pushed for 4hrs before having a vacuum assisted delivery as DS was becoming distressed. It still took a number of attempts to deliver him and was terrifying.
I’m currently 29 weeks with DS2. At our 20 week scan his head measured large and the sonographer commented that it was right at the top of the percentiles. My Dr will refer me to the hospital in the next few weeks anyway (I also had a retained placenta - lucky me!) but I will also discuss head size.
I am just interested in anyone else’s experiences? Has anyone been recommended a C-section due to this? I am trying to be prepared with questions.
