Sweep tomorrow 39w6d

I have a sweep booked tomorrow - feeling nervous but excited too! Hoping it will result in labour but also can’t stop thinking my cervix will be closed and so sweep won’t be possible. Anyone had a successful sweep at this stage? Feeling so ready for baby to be here now!

I last saw my midwife on Wednesday but she said baby was not engaged so didn’t recommend a sweep at that stage.

Is this your first DC?

I had a sweep at 39+2 with my 2nd. My waters went at 39+4 and she arrived at 39+6.

Exciting!! I had a sweep at 40+1 and went into labour that night. I'd also recommend lots of walking. Best of luck to you 💖

I had an unsuccessful sweep at 37+3 (being induced early) - MW couldn’t even reach my cervix and two days later I had a successful sweep where I was found to be 2cm dilated and had a bloody show a few hours later…

Sweep did nothing 1st baby
2nd baby started 3 hours later
slept through alot of it
then woke up in full labour. Had her that day
good luck some babies are just stubborn
