Is anyone planning to do the NIPT test or have you performed it in previous pregnancy ? Any advice?

Hi @AnnaPr1992 , I got it done this pregnancy. I had 1:405 odds for Down’s syndrome as part of my screening. Even though those are pretty good odds at my age, I wanted to know for sure.

It was fairly straightforward, it cost about 400£, this included the blood test and a scan. Results came back in 5 days and included the sex.

All was fine in my case.

No advice really, for me it was worth the money as I wanted to be sure or to mentally prepare myself before the baby arrived. My friends of the same age had had 1:8000 odds which made me more worried. It’s very expensive but I thought worth it.

I have had one but has mine done via the Nhs so they don’t tell you the sex.

I’m in late 30s and planning to have one if I become pregnant. I’d like to have the reassurance and also plan to find out the sex this time.

I had one. Just for peace of mind really and to know as early as possible if something was wrong. Had it done privately. I don’t really like private scan places but it was the only way of getting it done. Results came back within a few days. The only thing I would say is if you’re going to find out the sex it’s a bit of a weird way to find out to just scroll an email. It’s much nicer to find out on a scan.
