Maybe this is a silly question, but according to my calculations of when my last period was (don't know when exactly in the cycle I ovulated) I should be 9 + 6 today. But went for an early scan last week at what should have been 8+5 but they scanned me as 8+1, so I was just wondering do you still consider yourself to be your own calculation or do you change it to the time shown from the scan at this point?

I wouldn’t change anything until the 12 week dating scan

Don't worry about it too much until the 12 week scan, and then use the date they give you at that scan. That's the date that will go on your notes and that the NHS will work to.

Dating is most accurately estimated by measurement of the baby at 12 weeks.

Wait till your 12 week scan x
