Is anyone on here taking Cyclogest?
I have been prescribed it today due to 2 previous MCs
Just wanting to know everyone's thoughts and if they have used it before? ☺️

Not for miscarriage, but for an incompetent cervix in both pregnancies and it helped. Sorry for your previous losses 💐

Krakenes · 25/01/2023 13:10

I’ve used it three times. Had two miscarriages and one pregnancy whilst being on it.

AnneLovesGilbert · 25/01/2023 13:10

I used it with DD after several mcs and again this timeWhat would you like to know?

Els3086 · 09/02/2023 06:35

@ElishaTxx hey, I am on it after 2 MMC and a MC and 12 weeks today. Whether it’s that, or just “our time” I’ll never know but seems to be doing the trick. I was anxious on it as it can give you all symptoms of pregnancy but after several private scans, all is well so far! 🤞🏼
how are you feeling? X

ElishaTxx · 09/02/2023 06:53

@Els3086, im currently 9weeks and had a scan 2 weeks ago and doing good! I'm back next week for another scan so fingers crossed 🤞🏼 I feel like there definitely working for me though! &I'm so glad it's working for you!! Got everything crossed for you x

I was previously given Cyclogest pessaries to use twice daily but unfortunately have now got an UTI and so painful down below to the point where I cannot sit or sleep. I’m currently 9 weeks 6 days so hoping I can reduce or stop Cyclogest as it’s too painful. Has anyone else experienced this?

Els3086 · 11/02/2023 07:46

@Lily2410 I had a kidney infection just after Christmas - a week of antibiotics cleared it up no problem. I’m sure you have but have you been to docs? UTI’s are really common in pregnant ladies but can be nasty if you don’t get seen. I also had a touch of thrush from vaginally inserting the pessaries, some canesten cream cleared that up in 2 days (used externally - you’re not supposed to use it internal when preg). I went for my 12 weeks scan scan yesterday, baby was wiggling like mad and everything was fine. My consultant at hosp has said I can come off the pessaries at 16 weeks (which is the norm) which I’m half looking forward to, half dubious about. Here’s a scan from yesterday to keep you ladies positive. I know those pessaries aren’t nice and I know they don’t work for everyone but keep going, you’re all incredible for putting your bodies through this and it’s so worth it xxx

Aww thank you so much for the positivity. I saw my doctor today and had a scan baby was all well however i am extremely swollen down below I cannot do anything im in constant pain :( Dr told me to use Canesten pessary I just about got my sister to insert it due to the swelling. His told me to continue the Cyclogest pessaries and to insert them from behind (tmi sorrry) I’ve never done that before so will attempt it tomorrow.

@Lily2410 so pleased everything was ok for you. It will clear up, honestly, get on the canesten and it’ll soon sort it out. It won’t be forever, science (and most docs) will tell you stop at 16 weeks….keep pushing through but I know it’s painful and yes, you can do them rectally, I think it’s just little more messy but I tend to do mine 7am in bed and lie for 30 mins and then 7pm on the bed and lie for 30 mins - seems less “leakage”. Keep me updated xx

Hi I am just looking for some reassurance really, I have been taking cyclogest since 3 DPO for short luteal phase and can’t believe it I got a positive yesterday at 11DPO!! I am continuing with the cyclogest but Problem is today I am having some spotting and once when I wiped it was quite pink. Is this a chemical pregnancy that cyclogest is just prolonging? Or might everything be ok 🙏

also if it’s an unviable pregnancy will cyclogest be irrelevant? I don’t really want to carry until 12 weeks to be told at a scan that it’s unviable because the cyclogest kept me going, if that makes sense.
