Hello! Anyone have any insight on whether its safe to get gel nails and acrilic nails through pregnancy? I always though it was fine but had a few people mention the chemicals etc so though I'd ask for opinions.
Thank you!

Pretty sure it's fine. I've had shellac throughout.

I've continued to her gel nails through pregnancy, couldn't find anything online suggesting it wasn't safe. I had to fill in a risk assessment type thing for the place go and pregnancy was one of the questions, they never mentioned anything so assume it's not an issue.

I had acrylics done every 3-4 weeks throughout two pregnancies and never had any problems.

I’m still having my gels done, I think it’s just advised to make sure you go somewhere with sanitised tools and good ventilation xx

I didn’t but the smell was too strong when pregnant, I’d have been throwing up everywhere 😂

It's fine. I'd prob avoid the big shops though as prob full of dust. If you get it done at a reputable place you should be fine

If you're going to a proper beautician it's fine, but a lot of the Chinese/Asian nail shops on high streets use dental acrylic, and practice poor hygiene between clients. I wouldn't personally

Ah this is super helpful and quite frankly a relief! Thank you so much lovely people :)
