Hello,

Trying to understand this maternity package /policy, but struggling to wrap head around it.

At first I thought it meant circa 7.5 months at 90% pay but think I'm reading wrong. Is this 4.5months?

Any help greatly appreciated

I read it as 6 weeks at 90% then 12 weeks at SMP plus 50% OMP then SMP for 21 weeks then unpaid for 13 weeks

6 weeks at 90% of salary
Then, smp + 50% of salary for 12 weeks
Then, 21 weeks of SMP
Then, 13 weeks unpaid.

To qualify for the 50% you must return to work for minim 13 weeks at the end of may leave or pay it back.

This was how I read it too.

All the references to 90% after the first 6w are in case you earn very little and 90% of your salary is less than the £145 SMP.

As pp said, you've got the standard 6w at 90% then an extra 12w of 50%. Then it's just SMP.
