Just got home from my pre-op and was reading through everything and it says to not shave in the 7 days before. I shaved this morning before going in! My section is booked for Thursday.

Do I need to phone up and tell them? Will they postpone?! Blush

I had an emergency c section and a man in his 40s who Id never met, shaved me infront of about 8 people!!!

I was a prude before I had my baby 😂😂😂

you’ll be fine! They won’t care either way. Xx

It can be a good idea to shave any places where they might stick a dressing (like they shave men's abdomens before surgery) simply to make getting it off rather less horrible

Otherwise it's undesirable (as is waxing) because both can cause micro-abrasions which can be a source of infection. Chances are that won't happen, but even a small risk is worth avoiding, as you'll have enough going on post-natally without that! But it's not something to worry about if the deed is already done

I had an emergency and they didn't shave anything due to the risk of infection apparently, nothing like giving yourself a DIY bikini wax 3 days post section taking the dressing off 😩

I had an emergency C-section when my twins decided to push their way out at 32 weeks.

The (very posh, male) surgeon was all ready to dive in and apparently had the shock of his life to be met with an untamed bush.

I was off my face on drugs at the time but I can very clearly remember him enunciating "Oh!! Can someone deal with....that....for me. It's rather hairy...."

The fact that women have pubic hair seemed to come as a bit of a shock to him 😅

In fairness, I'd not been able to see down there in weeks so it probably looked like a porcupine with a beehive.

Better you do it than a nurse scrape you with a dry disposable Bic razor! That was horrible.

I had awful razor rash thanks to that.

This! I was dry shaved before an emergency c-sec... The itching from the wound is bad enough, but from a dry Bic hack? Aaargh!

Had an elec next time and made sure all was gone around the incision line.

You'll be fine. Good luck for you and baby!
