Pregnant with 3rd child and terrified of an early arrival!
1st pregnancy 40+4 - straight forward birth
2nd pregnancy waters broke at 35+6 out of no where, had to be induced as tested positive for group b strep and labour wasn’t starting quickly enough. Baby all fine and didn’t need any help.

I am early pregnant with 3rd and suddenly freaking out about why I am doing this and convincing myself I am going to have a really premature baby. (I know it’s hormones etc) but looking for some positive stories. I have done too much googling and convinced there must be an issue with my cervix or I’m going to get another infection etc.

Looking for positive stories and things that you think helped go longer! Thank you

I would be interested to hear any responses from those who had a pregnancy after PPROM.
Have you seen your midwife yet and did they say anything? How far along are you?
My first pregnancy my waters broke at 36+2 and then I went into labour and delivered at 36+5. I am now only 5+4 but already wondering if it will have any influence on this pregnancy. x

I am 6 weeks so not seen a midwife yet!
was your baby ok when born or did they need extra help? Hope everything goes smoothly this time for you!

Ah so we are at a similar point. I am seeing my midwife at 8 weeks so I will try find out then how they think it will have any influence. The form I had to fill out to self refer did ask if I had a premature birth so they must think it could have an influence on subsequent pregnancies.
My son was born completely fine. He was technically only 2 days premature (before 37 weeks) in the end and they gave us both antibiotics which would have helped. Glad your baby was fine too! thanks x

I had PPROM in my first pregnancy. And here I'm with a second. PPROM is a major thread. Any of you using test strips for pprom? The one I'm using is from Parsagen Diagnostics. Is there any alternative?

Hi @MomFightPPROM - How early did your waters break with your first? How far along are you now? I am only 18 weeks. I have seen the midwife and had my first scan and they don't seem too worried about PPROM. Maybe because it was so late in pregnancy and my baby was only slightly premature and born healthy?
I didn't know there were test strips for pprom. When did you start with them? xx
