What's best to take? I'm only taking folic acid at the minute?

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I take pregnancare original, it contains folic acid too, so it's all in one.

Bubblemachiene · 21/01/2023 08:59

@Moni81 yes I seen that one then they had pregnancare plus which was a lot more expensive

Not sure what one to get lol

Folic acid and vitamin d is all that's recommended

Passenger87 · 21/01/2023 09:20

I'm taking pregnacare max as it seems to contain everything needed. The tablets are massive though so I take with plenty of water or OJ.

I took folic acid and vitamin d. If you are in the uk then vitamin d is good through the winter, I think it’s about october to March when there isn’t as much daylight and the sun is lower.

If you can, take methylfolate instead of folic acid. Many people have a genetic predisposition that means they can't convert folic acid into the absorbable form.
Vitamin D is also recommended.
Some combination preparations like pregnacare also include bulking agents and fillers which some react to with increased nausea and other gut issues. Just something to be aware of.
I take a multivitamin by Biocare which is really good

I take the pregnacare max - they’re a bit expensive but have all sorts (probably some not needed 😅) and come with an omega 3 tablet too. I agree they’re a bit hard to swallow though!

Moni81 · 21/01/2023 18:41

@Bubblemachiene pregnancare original is more than sufficient, it is just one tablet a day which is good as I'm rubbish taking multiple supplements, always forget or give up lol. Pregnancare original is really cheap as well on Amazon.

Thanks il look on amazon @Moni81
