Maternity allowance

Hi, my work informed me late that I'm not eligible for SMP, I'm due 4th February 2023.

I will send in my maternity allowance claim form now but will I get rejected for being late if I send this now? I was reading you need to apply for MA promptly so just want to know it's ok
If I send it now and claim the payment for 1st February?

The reason they want it promptly is so they can process it and pay MA on time. You will get MA but may have to wait for your first payments.

Make sure the application is sent this weekend.

You won't get it by 1st feb but when it is processed, you will get a lump sum dated back from whenever you were supposed to start mat leave.
