Hey everyone!

Me again, first time pregnancy and have known since 4 weeks. It feels like its took me forever to get to 11+6. Finally have my scan booked for tomorrow and midwife has been abit lapse. Not sure what to do, like how much I should drink before.

Also I am a plus size girl so always get abit anxious before any kind of medical exam.

Can I ask if anyone has any advice please!

Thanks in advance :)

Yes, you need to drink. You should have gotten a letter saying the same. But basically you need a full bladder, so have like 2 big glasses the hour before the scan, and drink normally before so you’re hydrated.

more info here, but there is nothing to prepare. If you agreed for the DS screening, you’ll have a combined test, scan plus bloods.

you should also take an urine sample with you. Morning one best. You should have gotten the urine recipient from the midwife, it’s reusable and you’ll need to bring it at every app. If you haven’t, don’t worry, they have some there.

Hey guys, I’m currently almost 9 weeks pregnant (not sure the exact number as I haven’t had an appointment yet.) I had an early scan at 5 weeks just to make sure I wasn’t having an ectopic and the pregnancy was in the right place but still no embryo which they said was very normal. I have my first scan on Wednesday and I’m sort of freaking out with nerves and looking for a little reassurance. I had very very light spotting yesterday which I haven’t gotten since implantation about a month ago. I’ve also had some of my pregnancy symptoms ease the last week such as nausea (or maybe I’m just used to it.) I’m overthinking worried there won’t be a heartbeat and the symptoms fading and spotting is a miscarriage. I’ve had a previous miscarriage and suffered with multiple fertility issues such as PCOS and chronic endomitritis. The spotting was so light and now it has stopped and I’ve heard symptoms can come and go but I’m still driving myself a little crazy! I was doing well up until the last couple day with the nerves. Any comments would be great! Thank you😊

Hi Darling.

I apologise for no reply. I am the worst for over thinking but please try not to I understand its easier said then done. If you have any worries you should speak to medical professional but I was the same as you especially worrying about a heartbeat. I went for a private scan at 17 weeks and the was punching and kicking away and heartbeat was strong but I still worry now. I dont think well ever stop worrying as parents. Even now I constantly looking at the toilet tissue when I wipe.

I wish you all the best in the world
