Badger notes

I really don't like badger notes 😩

I only gave birth to my other child a year ago and it was still handheld paper notes then and I preferred it so much more.

But badger notes is really starting to wind me up 🤣

Have a scan tomorrow, a few days ago I noticed on the app it had been cancelled and rearranged, no notification - just gone on it again and it's been rearranged again, no notification. I'm glad I checked because I've had to swap around childcare plans! (If I hadn't have checked, my mum would be rocking up at my house 4 hours after the new scan time🫢)

And not to mention I can't view anything (I've updated it, updated my phone, asked the midwife) but results/any leaflets - can't see them!
I loved being able to just look at everything easily with handheld notes 🫣

Anybody else?

Not a fan, I loved having my paper notes. I'm not having the problems you are but, I don't even know what to suggest to you. The only good thing is any test results go on it so you aren't chasing midwives for them. Hope you get it all sorted x

That's another issue I'm having, I still have to chase them 😩 I wonder if you can request some handheld stuff too? It's just making me so stressed! X

I can’t see the details of anything - I can see when I went for appointments but when I click into them, it says ‘not published’.
No records of my BP etc either, even though they were definitely taken.
I miss being able to read all the notes and seeing bits like how baby was positioned. Helped you feel closer and enjoy the process.
Hoping you still get a paper write up of your birth / timings etc as I got for discharge last time 😞

Oh god now I’m panicking my appts been rearranged without me knowing 🤣 I can’t even see any appts on there I find it so confusing

AlulaM · 19/01/2023 16:02

I’ve had loads of issues too now mostly resolved, can’t believe in they’ve paid folk to design such a shit app and seem not have given midwife’s any training in how to use it. If it’s saying not published then your midwife is not checking a box to publish the result though…hard not to be patronising about it but I’d go back to your midwives and say nothing is visible to you….because it should be. X

I much preferred paper notes too. I did like being able to see results and not having leaflets cluttering up the house though. All worked OK for me but DD was born 10 months ago so not recent. I loved my little folder of notes with my older kids!!

MolesOnPoles · 19/01/2023 16:06

It’s useless!

I’ve got both badger notes and paper ones. The Badger notes just say ‘no records available’.

Even worse, I had a MC shortly before this pregnancy, and it keeps mixing up the two and giving dates based on the other pregnancy.

PinkVitamins · 19/01/2023 16:19

I'm a midwife and we use badger notes. I like it but I also make sure I use it properly, I tick the box to make notes available and I write proper notes in the right section and always update bloods. But due to the nature of my work I have the time to do this, it's a lot harder in a busy clinic etc.
You can absolutely ask your midwife during the appt to tick the box so you can see your notes.
The rubbish thing is not alerting you to changed appts - that's definitely a flaw.
All leaflets should be available in the tab that's fourth along at the bottom - can't think what it's called now but in our system they're all in there and you can search for the leaflet you want.

We had next to no training on it for antenatal care (a bit of training for using it for labour care) and I've had to largely teach myself as we go along! I've definitely seen colleagues absolutely struggling who had no idea about ticking the box to make the notes available etc.

I'm going to mention it tomorrow! It's proper winding me up 🙈 x

I absolutely hate badger notes.. i was told to use it on my last pregnancy in October last year which sadly ended as a miscarriage.. the hospital didnt even bother updating badger notes after that to clear the information and data and now i am pregnant again and went to badger notes to register my new pregnancy but found that the notes from my old pregnancy were still there and it was showing me that i am 31 weeks pregnant this week... it was so heartbreaking seeing that..
I want the old paper notes back.. atleast then if anything happens (god forbid) atleast i can get rid of old notes etc. If i want.

CinnamonToU · 17/04/2023 23:44

@HoneyBunnii that is unacceptable, so sorry this happened. Please feed back and complain, the app sounds shite. What kind of name is Badger anyway?

HoneyBunnii · 17/04/2023 23:53

@CinnamonToU i was going to complain but then found where it says "if you wish to delete your account you have to contact your caregiver" which i assume will be the same response that i will get from the complaints team.
They should just have an option on the side bar to be able to deactivate your account just like other platforms it would save many from what i am feeling 😠

ShortWomanWithAltitude · 21/06/2023 18:10

Also so many typos in the app! It doesn’t exactly fill you with confidence that the coding is going to work properly if they didn’t even manage to proofread the contents ….

Stacie7 · 20/12/2023 01:26

Can anyone help my badger app won’t let me complete is it wen u near the time of appointment or few days as it’s not let me

NotARealWookiie · 20/12/2023 02:12

I HATE badger notes. I’ve just had a baby, I can never find anything on it, not convinced half the things that are meant to be on it are actually there. I can’t find the baby’s weight, c section wound care advice or anything … every time I ask for something I’m told “it’s on badger notes” and I just think “great, that’s me googling then…”

HoneyBunnii · 20/12/2023 15:41

@Stacie7 if it wont let you complete information regarding your health history etc. Then dont worry because the midwife will do all that for you at the first appointment/ booking appointment because they go through all of that again with you anyway

HoneyBunnii · 20/12/2023 15:43

@NotARealWookiie yeah same here, whenever they said "oh i will post some info on this and that on badger notes" i can never find it.

I have fibromyalgia etc. and was really struggling with pain and they kept saying they had posted information on how to deal with the pain on the app i never found it and just gave up and was bedridden for the last part of my preganancy.. i really just miss the handheld notes
