Hi all, I’m 8 weeks and having a really bad cold. It doesn’t qualify as a fever exactly but I’m having temp for 37.4 which is high for me (normally run at about 36.4). Feeling pretty horrendous.

I know ibuprofen and aspirin are no good but is Panadol ok to take every four hours? I took two tablets this morning but then when I was due for the next lot I googled and saw there are some reports it could damage the development of the baby? I’m too tired/out of it to do my research so thought I’d ask you guys.

thank you

NHS advice is that it's fine to take a normal dose in pregnancy.

It’s a maximum of 8 tablets in 24 hours- so yes you can take every four hours but still only to a maximum of 8/24 hours. And yes it is considered safe in pregnancy but I still would take the least amount possible for the shortest time possible as you are so early in your pregnancy. Hope you feel better soon!
