Eye problems in pregnancy

Hey all, so I'm 26 weeks and 3 days pregnant and for about a month or so I've had really painful dry eyes, sometimes with what seems like dots or flashes, also seems very sensitive to light...I went for an eye test and my eyes had gotten worse from my previous pregnancy so I got new glasses two weeks ago hoping that would help....which it hasn't, been feeling off for a few days, called triage today who said because BP and urine were fine preeclampsia not likely and to see my GP instead...so I did and he tested them both again and all was fine, he said maybe diabetes which I have my glucose test next week.....but he's sending me to a eye specialist tomorrow, anyone had eye problems in pregnancy that just got better or wasn't caused by something like preeclampsia? Thank you

I sometimes get blurred vision/flashing white lights when pregnant, it comes on suddenly and is accompanied with high blood pressure lasts for about 20 minutes then goes back to normal and so does my blood pressure. Have you tested your blood pressure while your having the dots/flashes? I was at work first time it happened and they suspected pre-eclampsia so called an ambulance, but my vision and blood pressure returned to normal shortly after ambulance arrived, doctor said it's migraine aura, no head ache though just vision problems. Never had it before I got pregnant, also had an eye test done and it came back fine, first time it happened I was roughly 20 weeks.

i had similar odd experience with my eyes during pregnancy. The optician was a little dismissive - I felt in a good way as she wasn’t at all concerned - she just said that pregnancy does all sorts of weird things to your body! Not that I’m dismissing your symptoms, it’s good you’re seeing a specialist just to get it checked. But try not to worry, stress and anxiety will make everything worse (I know that’s easy to say!)

one thing that helped me was the Optase eye mask that you heat up in the microwave. The warmth on my eyes was so relaxing and really helped to ease the dryness.

I had a very similar experience. How interesting! I didn’t know this was common.
