Ectopic???

Hi, looking for some advice as I’m so worried. I’m 5 weeks pregnant today after nearly 2 years TTC. For the last 3 days I have had a niggling sort of ache in my left side, this started like a sciatic type pain down my left leg and then got quite bad aching lower back pain. This seems to move from buttock, lower back and lower left side of pelvis. It is almost completely masked when I take paracetamol but is a constant pain, not a cramping. Today I also had some creamy discharge with a very light pink tinge, but nothing for the last 6 hours or so. The pain is more noticeable on moving, I’m just so worried that this could be an ectopic. Has anyone had similar symptoms? I’m going to try and call the EPU tomorrow morning but not sure if they would scan me as will probably be too early? Please any advice would be appreciated

I had this, although more in the lower back and hip crease on the left side, from about 5-7 weeks, and I was very worried - even went to the doctors, who did an abdominal exam and said that as the pain wasn't severe and I hadn't had bleeding it was unlikely to be ectopic, but she could refer me to EPU if I was worried. I declined, as I had a scan booked for 2 days time anyway, and everything was fine. Turns out I ovulated from my left side and had a corpus luteum from the ovulation, which was causing the cramping. However I would always say contact your doctor or EPU if you are at all worried.

I had this with my son and it turned out to be a cyst on the ovary the egg had come from. Something to do with the huge amount of hormones that keep baby in place until the placenta grows and takes over. I had to have a scan with the EPU because of the pain. It stopped around 10 weeks

Thanks so much for your replies, just thought I would update here for anyone else who has similar symptoms. I have just had a scan at EPU and was too early to see a heartbeat but the pregnancy was in the right place and they could see a yolk sac.

They also saw a corpus luteum cyst - I ovulated from my left side and the nurse said this would be the reason for my pain and is completely normal. I am so relieved, was terrified this was an ectopic. Would definitely recommend getting any pain checked out - I feel so much calmer now!
