Hi,
has anyone had this problem- I can’t get in touch with my midwife, I have text her four times since the 4/1/23 to arrange our 28 weeks appointment as I desperately need my matb1 form for work. She hasn’t replied and I’ve left two voicemails with the community midwife team to ring me back but they haven’t 😢😢.
Im based at the womens hospital liverpool- if anyone has any advice?

I asked my gp for the form but they said to go through my midwife .

Please help 🙏🏻

Mine was the Midwives based at my GP surgery. I made an appointment with them. I was consultant led through the hospital but they couldn’t do it. Have you tried calling the main GP reception to speak to a midwife there?

Princessintherosecastle · 18/01/2023 18:41

Mine is based at the hospital but I have asked my gp can they provide it but they said it’s only from my midwife.

I don’t know who else to contact 😫

My hospital based midwife team (not the women’s though, sorry) had a little office for things like this - you could go without an appointment. Is there any way you can turn up one day and ask for the form?

bravotango · 18/01/2023 19:03

Do you have any other midwife numbers for the team you're under at LWH?

I see midwifes for scans etc in antenatal clinic? Have u got a climic u can ring? Where u had 20 weeks scan and explian

ReamsOfCheese · 18/01/2023 19:08

This might be bad but I'd consider turning up at hospital mat ward (or ringing) and saying you've got reduced fetal movement, getting a scan to check all ok (as she should be checking you) and get the Mat B1 at the maternity ward while you're there.

Might be a bit early for that if OP is trying to arrange a 28 week scan.

Op even if your midwife is at the hospital is there also a community midwife at your GP?

Id probably just call every number I could find for midwives commented to your hospital

ThisMustBeMyDream · 18/01/2023 19:17

Please don't do what @ReamsOfCheese suggested. Bloody hell.
Hospital wards are unlikely to have the matb1 forms. Only antenatal clinic and community midwives will have them.
The best time to ring is usually 9am, as you will likely get through at that time and speak to someone directly who can advise.
Where did you have your 16 week appt? At the GP surgery or community centre?

Ember90 · 18/01/2023 19:21

How far along are you now? If they’re based at the hospital you could contact PALS. That’s really poor OP, I would consider raising a complaint, particularly as you’ve left messages for the community midwife team and not just her (she could be on a/l or off sick)

Thank you all for the replies. I’m 26 weeks. It’s my second baby so am not
due to have an appointment till 28 weeks. Work are being funny and won’t even sort out my maternity leave or annual leave till I get this blooming form.
I was thinking of PALS just to see if they could find out what was going on. When I ring the community midwives number it just goes straight to voice mail x

Whilst you’re at it, so you have your prescription exemption? I had to chase that down around the same time as my MatB1 and I think you’re supposed to get it earlier.

Hi OP. I know you said you spoke to your GP and they said to get the form via your midwife however I am sure the GP can issue one. Maybe call again and be a little more pushy and explain again how it’s not been at all possible to contact your midwife or the midwife team.

Flittingaboutagain · 18/01/2023 20:08

Have you left a voicemail asking for one to be posted? A general call me me will go unanswered here.

Do you not think they are not busy enough In there as it is? Just go and ask for it no need to lie and get scanned how ridiculous.
