Rigid uterus, first trimester

This is my third baby, currently 8 weeks.

Since 6 weeks I've been getting a rigid uterus every morning when I wake up. It's completely hard like a contraction and lasts until I get up/walk about, so up to twenty minutes or so. Last night I noticed it happens through the night too. It's not sore but uncomfortable.

I had this throughout both previous pregnancies, but only from about 10 weeks onwards. They are more regular and long lasting this time too.

Has anyone else had these? Did you find a way to ease them, by massaging, heat, stretches, or something?

I've asked two midwives in the past. One didn't know, and the other thought I was probably feeling my full bladder. I am not. I'll probably ask the current midwife too, but not holding out any hope. It's obviously not in the textbook!

I didn't think the uterus moved up above the pubic bone til about 12 weeks? Are you sure that's what you're feeling? I've never heard of anyone describing that so early on

Got three fibroids so it is bulkier than your big standard uterus! I am used to feeling the fibroids so it definitely is my uterus, without a doubt.

Ah ok! Maybe it's because of the fibroids? Not sure sorry!

Well thankyou for trying anyway 🙂
